Recording

  1. Snap camera into plastic enclosure (make sure to align the enclosure screen cutout and camera screen).
  2. Enclosure screws on to stand plate (on side where battery door is) – firm but not tight.
  3. Zoom appropriately by using the camera side buttons.
  4. Press the shutter/OK button to begin recording – a blinking red dot will appear on the screen and the yellow light on top of the unit will flash.
  5. Attach camera unit to video monopod, making sure that the camera points away from the video stand arms if you are hanging it INSIDE the court and away from the video stand arms if you are hanging it OUTSIDE the court, looking in.
  6. Angle the camera angled down (approx. 20 degrees) looking toward the court, so that 2 yards behind the near baseline is visible and you can still see the action at the far baseline.
  7. Fingertip tighten all three (3) adjustment parts on the video stand, make sure that they’re firm so camera is stable.
  8. Lower middle leg and tighten it to give you the ability to reach up and put the camera stand arms on fence. Center the position in middle of court where the white T is at the baseline.
  9. The camera is recording as long as blinking yellow light on body is on/blinking, even though the screen may have turned off as a power saver.
Note to test: Take down from fence, press button twice, play to see what’s been recorded (shutter button), adjust angle as necessary. Then press power button to get to video mode and press record button, check recording lights, and set back on fence.
  10. When taking camera off fence, talk to it: “This match was played by [player name(s)] from St Joe’s vs [player name(s)] from [other school], and the final score was [the score]. Show score cards if possible, then turn camera off (press power button and hold until camera powers down).
