How to Serve Fast in Tennis

[ad_1]

One of the most important ingredients in making a successful tennis player is in the speed and accuracy of the tennis serve. Most often, people who have speed fail in the accuracy and those who try to serve the ball at the exact location they intend to end up compromising on the speed of the tennis serve.

Serving fast is extremely important in today’s competitive tennis matches. However, you  must remember that in trying to serve too fast, you should end up losing a lot of your energy or end up with injuries. It is possible to notch up the speed of your service without having to try too hard.

Yes, stop trying too hard when it comes to service. One thing you have to remember is that the speed of your tennis serve does not come from the power you put into the ball from your hands or more importantly the wrist, but from elsewhere – your technique.

If you have been undergoing tennis coaching, you would know how your coach keeps yelling at you for jumping before the ball is in downward motion of the serve. The power of your serve comes from your legs; or more precisely from the exact timing and angle at which you hit the ball. Always remember to keep your right food parallel to the base line (if you serve with right hand), and left leg towards the net. Throw the ball directly over your right leg, and bend your knees to serve exactly when the ball begins its downward motion. Hold your tennis racquet in such a way that you can perform a complete swing of the racquet with your weight on the back foot. Release without a snap of your wrist.
